Wagering Integrity: A critical component in Profitable Sports Gaming
Enthusiasts near and far are chomping at the bit to drop a dub on the NFL in August. If you wagered on the Hall of Fame game please read. If you did not then you have our congratulations respect and acknowledgement that you possess some gaming discipline.
Integrity in Gaming:
Why would any authentic Profitable Sports Gaming Enthusiast consider a wager of real money on any NFL preseason contest? We honestly have no idea. Oh sure, there are PERCIEVED angles and maybe even goofy trends that those that must sell plays or gambling goof balls will cite but in our humble opinion (one based on better than three decades in this business) wagering on event(s) which offer no integrity for any individual, team or entity to gain a win is the same as playing the dad gummed lottery.
Pre-season Football is not a time for wagering rather it is a time for exercising discipline and performing comprehensive Due Diligence! Wasting one’s budget wagering on the NFL in Pre-season games because one is ‘Jonesing’ for a gamble is folly folks. Just want to bet because ‘it has been a long time and you love football’….then our advice is get out while the getting is good.
Yesterday Hardball offered 2 games of ‘integrity’. Cards at Reds and Rangers at A’s both offered any Enthusiast the opportunity to consider a wager in which two teams both vying for the playoffs were to face each other in a divisional game. Now that’s gaming ‘integrity’ Enthusiasts!
Last night the feathers were flying because Miami was a shoe in to cover the -3 and school the Romo-less Pokes! C’mon people?! That game was on to allow us to scout and take notes. For each team’s first two possessions that is exactly what we did.
This week we will handicap Hardball as well the PGA Tournament because we can set our watches to the fact that teams vying for the playoffs in Hardball are bringing their best to the park each night in an attempt to WIN a ball game. In the PGA we know we will get Tiger’s best effort as well the best efforts of all the young guns looking to make a name for themselves and boost their careers by winning the Wannamaker Trophy.
In pre-season football we can count on one thing by way of outstanding effort. The third and fourth string players on every team will give all they got to make their particular squad. We are not sure about our readers but Uncle Louie has NO ABILITY to handicap third and fourth string players in a pre-season event especially when we have no clear grasp of the motivations of the Coach and organization. As Bill Parcels one of our hero’s and role model said, “If you DON’T know what you don’t know, that’s a lot different than if you DO know what you don’t know”.

Integrity in any wagering endeavor is of the utmost importance. Understand this basic premise and utilize discipline to focus on Due Diligence as we near the start of the College and Pro Football seasons. If you have the itch’ and must place a play then perform your Due Diligence, remain Selective and precisely Manage your Money then…find a wager that offers ‘Integrity’ for crying out loud!
