“Pay for Something”
The best Advice Uncle Louie could pass to any aspiring to become Profitable at Sport Gaming (or for that matter profitable* in any endeavor) is this: In order to acquire/earn true respect within any industry, one must “pay for something”.
No business owner, widget distributor, Cement manufacturer, computer programmer, bartender, nurse nor board of Director ever achieved an ounce of respect within their industry without serving their time, displaying passion, integrity and allowing time to help differentiate their talent from the sturgeons. “Paying for something” for any aspiring to be excellent at any profession is a prerequisite to “profitability”. “Paying for something” is the ultimate differentiator separating the excellent from all the others.
In the case of Profitable Sports Gaming “paying for something” is the single most important trait any professional may possess….but the few that have earned their respect have worked tirelessly for it, they’ve earned it, sweated for it and served their time to attain it. Those that don’t pay many times view the few that have “paid for something” with envy and believe ‘luck’ is integral to their success! We feel they are partially correct, as those that work their ass off and “pay for something” DO get lucky, they make their own breaks with diligent work and uncompromising ethic. Just like the defensive back that arrives at practice early, works extra time in the weight room and is also the last to leave the field gets the bounce that lands in his hands along the sideline to score that late TD so to do those that work smarter and more diligently than their competition earn “profitability”.
Enthusiasts, there is a reason we utilize titles for our dissertations such as: ‘From the Gut’, ‘What’s that Smell’, even ‘Swing it Easy’. Yes, we would like to think that after more than three decades in this business we are in a position to share with you the business plan for success and “profitability”.
The message is simple and clear: Passion for one’s industry, diligence, uncompromising ethical practices and longevity are the foundations to “profitability” in any industry and in order to be “profitable” one must….. “pay for something”.
*Our use of “profitable’ besides meaning successful via the bottom line also refers to an impeccable, honorable market identity based on ethical practices and time in the industry.
