With the 2016 baseball season transitioning into the postseason, it is time for the games to be played with much more meaning. In the AL, Texas romped their division but will face a difficult AL East foe. With a mediocre bullpen and too many close games, I do not expect them to win the pennant. The surprising Indians and strong Red Sox have another huge clash like they did in the 2007 ALCS, but this time the pitching isn’t as dynamic, as the offenses may carry the victor all the way into the World Series. The NL has looked like a runaway with the front running Cubs looking like the Golden State Warriors. I personally can’t see anyone stopping that Chicago freight train in the NL, just too many injuries for Washington and the LA Dodgers to overcome. Don’t expect an “Even Year” surprise from the Giants either. Everyone always talks about the “hot” team going into the playoffs to watch out for, and there really isn’t anyone. It could be wide open but either way it will be an exciting October and exhilarating November!

Free Play for Wednesday: The SF Giants have been here many times in the past. A one game pressure cooker against the 2015 NL Pennant winning NY Mets. The pitching matchup is a battle of 2 of the top 5 pitchers in the NL, Madison Bumgarner who is a postseason legend already facing, Noah Syndergaard, the hard throwing ace of the NY staff. The Mets sometime anemic offense has struggled against lefties the latter part of the season and the Giants have embarrassingly struggled offensively since the All Star break. Pitchers ballpark and a marquee matchup makes this duel a treat to watch, but I don’t expect many runs! Bochy will defer from going to his weak bullpen and trust his horse and I expect the same in NY. The total is 6 which looks threatening to some, but the UNDER is my free play. Good luck!
