ATN Baseball

It was nearly a month ago when we first took a look at the upcoming 2017 Major League Baseball Season and I noted three season win totals; Houston Astros OVER 90.5 wins, San Francisco Giants UNDER 89 wins, and The Cleveland Indians UNDER 93.5 wins. I have added one since and that is The Seattle Mariners Over 87 wins. I feel this is a great value due to the fact that I have them winning the AL West, which is another good play in my estimation at +350. The aforementioned Astros are the lone favorite but expect Seattle to finally perform well this season and beat out Houston for the crown as well as Texas.

A solid dark horse to win the NL with lots of value are the New York Mets at 7/1. With that pitching staff, making the playoffs is all they need to do. In a series, I expect them to be more mature this time around and take care of business if they stay healthy. Repeating in baseball is difficult of course, but if any team can match the guns with The Cubs, the Mets have the horses on their staff.

The Phillies and Pirates are two teams that may have good value all season as well.. until if and when The Pirates have their annual fire sale before the deadline. Look to find match ups with these two squads at good plus money, especially early in the season.

It is a feel good story and one many people are trying to write these days as we near the beginning of the baseball season, and that is predicting The Cubs and The Boston RedSox will each win The Pennant and meet in The World Series. It is hard to argue with the defending champs being so young and looking primed to make a run again. Boston loses David Ortiz but adds Chris Sale as another number one lefty alongside David Price. Pressed however to take a stab at a couple of teams that might flip the Chicago-Boston Hollywood ending, I would take a look at The Detroit Tigers representing The American League and The Dodgers in The National League. The window of opportunity closes fast and this may be the last shot for both of these teams to make a run at a championship.
